Comments: I haven't fished the Valley much over the past two years but I couldn't take the cabin fever any more. I had a great day with 9 Lakers the largest 33" & 11 pounds 10 oz. This fish was tagged and here is what Lisa Barno, the NJ Fresh Water Biologist had to say.

"The fish was tagged eleven years ago on 11/9/1989 during our annual fall gill netting, the laker measured 24" and was a ripe male.  It was recaptured the following year on 10/31/1990.  The laker then measured 25 inches and weighed 4.8 pounds.  It's nice to know some of these fish are still out there." Lisa said general estimate would be that it was between 15 to 17 years old"
I wonder how big it would have been if it was a female!

I caught four on the wire and the rest on a Rapala off the D/R's. I'll be back at the next opportunity!

Comments: Fished with Chris for 2 days straight, and all we had to show for where 6 fish :)I told him,he should have bin here last Sunday. Ah well, thats fishing. The Ranger Cove was ice free today, and so was the main launching Ramp. The only ice remaining, was in the N/E corner of the Lake. If the wind is calm tonight, there could be some ice in the morning again.
 See you on the lake,Walt

Comments: First 4 caught as soon as I hit bottom. Fished with my 11 year old son and he was frozen by then. He stopped fishing and I landed another 6 in the next 2 1/2 hours. I had a 22" laker that bulldogged to the bottom and did not want to come up, landing him took almost 20 minutes, considering that I fish with 8lb. test and did not know how big he actually was! Can't complain about that day!
