Comments: It was really rough on the Valley. Boat was getting tossed around to much to enjoy fishing. Didn't get lucky as last week. Diesel was upset only one smallmouth on the C-D method. Well I guess 90% of the time thats what it is all about.

Comments: While fighting the 24 inch Laker, the rod in my other holder started to bounce. I set the hook and stuck it back in the rod holder while I fought the first Laker, which I released on the surface. Circle hooks make releasing easy. The second fish got loose half way up. Sometimes you just need a another pair of hands. Nice day for late October.

Type+of+lure:
Type+of+bait: Herring
Water+temperature: 64

Comments: I knew that I picked the worser of the two days (Sunday vs. Saturday) when I launched the boat and "surf" driven be a stiff SE wind, was splashing over my transom at the ramp. I should of headed towards the east side but didn't feel like taking a pounding during the crossing, so I stuck it out along the west shore. After a couple hours of bouncing without a bite, I retreated to the relative protection of the back end of Ranger cove where I caught a couple of Smallies.

Comments: Great day on the valley weatherwise. We stopped by the pines when we saw trout slashing through pods of herring which were jumping in the air to escape surface feeding fish. This happened around 9 a.m and drew a lot of seagulls which were also feeding on pushed up herring. What a sight even full grown eagle flew over to see what was going on. We didn't catch many fish but we enjoyed the day. aes ay ekim
