Time+started+fishing: 8:30am
Time+finished+fishing: 11:30
Weather+conditions: Cold and warm at times but mainly cold with a slight
breeze
Location: Shore
Fishing+method: Casting worms
Depth+of+presentation: surface
Water+depth: do not know
Type+of+lure: I did try a rooster tail of the color yellow.
Type+of+bait: Worms
Water+temperature: 32 i guess
Species: Rainbow Trout
Size: can't measure um unless you catch um.
Total+caught: Zero
Comments: I went down early with fireball and realized that there was
a bunch of ice out there. I was afraid that the ice would continue
to grow further out into the lake as I fished so rather then risk it all
I figured that I should stay on the shore. I couldn't cast out past
the ice so my worms kept landing on the ice. A nice man tried to
help me out but he couldn't get the line out there that far either.
I went through about 2 dozen worms before I gave up. I then switched
to the yellow rooster tail. It worked. I was casting out about 4
feet past the edge of the ice and letting it sink then cranking it in.
That was the problem though. When I reeled in the rooster it got
stuck on the edje of the ice. I pulled real hard but it would not
come out. I laid down my pole and headed out to get it. I got
about about 5 feet (half way to the edge) and i heard a loud crack.
I decided that I should lay down to increase my surface area and not fall
through. It worked for the next 3 feet. I swung my legs out
over the edge to try and pop my lure off the ice and my leg broke through.
I was scared now. I yelled for help and two gay guys walking their
dog came running over. They reached out to me with a stick and pulled
my in. Half way in I felt a sharp pain in my leg and when I got on
the shore I realized that my rooster tail was imbedded in my calf.
These two gay guys were really cool. Well they looked gay but I can't
be sure that they were. Either way they reached up my pant leg and
got the hook out after ten minutes of pulling and yanking. What a
relief when that was finished. I was cold so headed back to the car.
With fireball in tow I headed home. Caught nothing again. Could
somebody please tell me where I can get longer fishing line. I have
been buying these 25 foot spooles and tying them together. The big
knots make it tough to cast far. Thanks Doby

saw the boat (that's true catch and release). I guess the med. shiners
were too big and they just didn't get the hook in their mouths. All

one hit in 70 feet (same location).

Comments: I got there and launched my canoe that I have nicknamed Fireball,
Thats why I have placed flames down the sides. Well, I got out there
and dropped my anchor (I just used a big brick). I was getting a
couple of poles out and realized that I needed to pee. I leaned over
the edge and fireball flipped like a middle finger at a wrestling match.
I went in. That's how I know the water temp was cold. I lost
a pole, 2 cola's, my hooks and all my worms (they actually floated for
a couple of minutes in their container but then they sank. If you
catch my pole please let me know. I'm not to worried about the worms and
the soda. I could not get back into the canoe so I pulled up my brick
and dropped that in without the rope on it. I towed my canoe to shore.
Two nice people helped me dry off and got my car warmed up. Be Careful
out there. If you fall in make sure you are near the shore or you
could die almost. Like me. I ended up not catching anything. I will
be back out in fireball later this week.
