Comments: No luck fishing, but observed a snake at the No Dam. Swam from shore about 75 yds to the boat. Coiled around the outboard for a rest. Not sure if it was just a Water Snake or a Copperhead. About 2 1/2 ft long. Tried to see if it had vertical or round pupils. Could not tell and did not want ot get to close. I did get a picture of it.Was about to poke it with the net to see if it had fangs when it took of for the No. Dam rocks. Has anyone else seen what may have been a Copperhead around RV?

Double anchored and used the live bait technique described at the RVTA meeting earlier in the year (slip sinker and 3ft flourocarbon leader) and it really paid off! Had 10 bites, caught 9 fish. All fish were very healthly, and were released in same condition.

I have to admit, we are limited to only a canoe and can only stay near the shore. Maby soon Ill get some tips where to fish so I could have a more productive day. All in all we had a great time and hope to do better next time.

Comments: this was our first day on the resivoir this year, we decided yesterday afternoon that we would go today so all of yesterday was spent getting the boat ready.  we fished all day and only had one bite which the trout just picked it up and let it go.  we started fishing for browns with no luck at the opposite side of the resivior from the launch ramp, then we went to the pines for lakers and rainbows with no luck, then we went by the point after the north tower for lakers and we got a bite but didn't catch anything.

Comments: Great day at the valley. Not all of the fish were small mouths. had one largemouth and probably about 25-30 rock bass and around 15-20 big sunnies. Left earlier than expected because of the thunder and lightning at the main boat launch. Sometimes I really hate the weather at the valley. It was a great day of fishing though.

Comments: Got on the "Valley" late, but hooked up within 15 minutes of anchoring. The laker hit hard, took off the bow of the boat, taking about 50' of line before I was able to turn it around and start bringing it in. It got within 20' of the boat and took about another 30'of line straight down! I finally got it to the boat and measured, weighed it and let it go. The only other action that day was on the 12' suspended herring, when the line screamed off the reel, the fish launched itself 4' into the air ,then was gone. The wind then kicked up and pulled my single anchor, so I pulled up and left.

Comments: My girlfriend and I camped all weekend but there were no herring due to the full moon. Nobody was out on the lake all weekend but the shoreline was full of bass fishermen. Never saw so many people fishing for bass at the Valley and not catching any. The pan fish were plentiful and we had fun hooking them. We anchored for a while in the middle and fished with shiners off bottom without any success all weekend.

Comments: Beautiful late afternoon on the "Valley". Anchored on a favorite spot off the the north point and had a laker take a line before a second line even went into the water. Within a 1/2 hour I had boated 2 lakers and a 'bow on a slip bobber at 19'. None of the fish had any size to them, with the largest being 20". The rainbow was even smaller, maybe going 16". I ended up with 5 lakers, one with a split lower jaw and one wth a treble hook in its outer gill plate, which I was able to remove. One bad thing, with maybe 6 boats on the water, I had to get a guy who kept drifting within 30' of me!

Comments: From what started out to be a HORRBILE trip, from the traffic delay to when I was trying to setup the boat on the area to be fished, the knot broke free and BAMN!!!! I lost an anchor with 200Ft. of line. I made several attempts to snag the anchor or line with my other anchor, with no luck and much angerI moved over a bit from my dredging area and setup with 1 anchor. After about a 8 minute wait the fish came and they were eager to hit,we ran out of bait and still caught 2 on dead herring. I never had many days with that much luck on the Valley, all lakers were in great shape some were fatter than others 1 had a split jaw and another had 1 eye. Wish the fishin was always that good.....
