Type of lure = lucky craft minnow plug, phoebe spoon
Type of bait = shiners, powerbait/mealworm
Water temperature = /
Species = Rainbow Trout
Size = 13"-18"
Total caught = 5
Comments = Caught 1 18" lake trout on shiner, 3 rainbows (2 on shiner, 1
on lure) and one brown on shiner. All fish between 13"-18". One of the
rainbows was a Kamloops 17" and the 18" was the lake trout...both VERY
FAT!!!! All action was concentrated between 9-10am and 1-2pm. TONS and TONS of
trout rising sipping flies VERY close to the shoreline. WHY DIDNT I HAVE MY
FLYROD WITH ME!!!!!!!! I was so pissed I didnt bring it. Everytime I do though,
the wind makes it useless. Saw 2 guys catching many trout under 15" with
their flyrods using midge flies. Hope no one wants to kill me, but I did keep
the Kamloops. It was the only one of legal size I caught and I really wanted to
have a nice trout dinner that night. Usually I always CATCH and Release. This
time was the exception because this KAMLOOPS was packed with meat and it fed my
wife and I very easily. I will return the tag though and thank the RVTA for
their continuous work in improving the reservoir. Thanks!
guys.
