Comments = Started trolling in the launch cove , lead core 4 colors and Rapalas,
firetiger, black/silver and rainbow trout. Didn't catch the first
fish(Kamloops)until outside the launch cove, 1/2 way to the ranger cove in 50'
water. Started running the DR at the bottom, with spoons without luck. Changed
over to the frozen herring with a dodger and had the first laker as soon as the
ball was stopped, thinking that the line caught bottom, instead it caught a
laker!!! Caught 1 more on the herring ,and 2 more on spoons, brass colored
Wablers. I can troll w/o my son, who prefers to live bait, but it sure is a lot
more work on your own!!

Water temperature = 39 degrees
Species = Lake Trout
Size = 18-23 1/2

Comments = Drifted in launch cove in the morning,marking lots of fish/hooking
none. Moved out to GPS mark in 95' water off North point, double anchored and
caught the largest laker of the day in about 1/2 hour, wrapping itself around
the anchor rope, very fat (4lb 11oz), and later was very tasty!!!
The rest of the day was picky at best, 3 more lakers caught and about 6 runoffs.
Wind calmed down in the late afternoon, and it was gorgeous on the 'Valley. It
was tournament day on the 'Valley, and as usual, the inconsiderate were out in
force, trolling within 10' of the boat and one boat with Great Lakes
planerboards spread out 100' to each side, trolling within the launch cove ,
making boats move out of his way! Nice goin', dude, hope you limited out.
