went up with neighbor jim Farley, skim ice on
ramp cove on way out, flat calm but super cold. rod eyes kept iceing up.
Trolled wire with a firedot spoon for 2 hours got 4 shorties in real
deep water (90 feet), then went to 80 feet off the 50 foot hump and
trolled chrome dodgers with shiners for the 2 hours. this was a good move,
caught 4 more fish but bigger, including 2 keepers just over 20 inches,
they started hitting consistantly, but we were tired and cold so we
called it a day. Nice, fun day at the Valley

Started looking for marks inside launch
cove-none found. went over by North tower-no marks either but decided to put
down live bait at all depths-nothing for 2 hours. Picked up and trolled
the south shore, 25-40\' water-lead core and flat line trolling, only
fish caught on blk/slvr jointed raps(4)-Chartreuse Alpina Diamond(1)(lost
1 also) and copper Mooselook(2)-lost 1 also. All Lake Trout, nothing
legal and no Browns/Rainbows.

Arrived at the Valley and the weather was
georgeous, with basically no wind blowing. My plan for the morning was to
pull wire for Lakers. Had a ball out there with the Lakers, nothing huge
but the bite was descent, the largest 24\", several of the others were
close to that mark also. Fished with John Korn and Mike K. out there,
they also did very well with the Lakers. Another great time at the
Valley....

Started out late this trip, wind was moderate
in the beginning and increased towards the mid afternoon. Ended up with
the 6 Lakers, had to really work for them this weekend !! Talked with
others out there and they said the morning was kind of slow pickings

Trolling leadcore produced nothing and a switch
to bait on the bottom got us a bunch of hits that were missed, execpt
for a nice laker in 70 feet. They would slam the shiner, but if not
allowed to turn away with the bait were missed.
